About Us

Denton Makers Fest, previously Denton Best Fest, is a music and arts festival that celebrates all forms of art and local businesses in the Denton, Texas community. This festival started off as a small dream inspired by art vendor fairs from the past and present between two friends and coworkers, David Baker and Madison Mercer.

Due to a popular arts fair called FOLD Fest announcing their retirement in 2019, David and Madison jumped at the opportunity to bring their dream to fruition on April 4th, 2020. Over 40 local artists, vendors, and bands were all set to attend. However, the COVID-19 pandemic and nationwide shutdown quickly wrecked those plans. David and Madison would not let this disaster completely ruin their dreams, and decided to take the time to put even more planning into their festival by expanding on their ideas, rebranding, getting more of the community involved, and basically making the festival bigger and better than it would have been in 2020! Low and behold, Denton Makers Fest was born and is finally coming to Rubber Gloves on April 30th, 2022.
